I often use flowers as my drawing instrument and as my pigment. I rub flower petals on paper creating traces of their often ephemeral color while containing small remnants of the flowers. Many record what is flowering in my gardens in upstate NY or places I visit, and become a kind of diary or scrapbook and a record of a point in time.
