Schedule:

1:00        Our Wonderful Frogs!   Hear a story about frogs, say hello to the (real) Hammond frogs,                  and then draw a picture of them having an adventure.    (Ages 5-10)

1.30         Scavenger Hunt.   The Hammond has many different special and colorful plants and                       sculptures. Hear about their symbolic meanings and then find them on a scavenger                       hunt.   (Ages 5-10)

3:00        The Magic is in the Details.   Blossoms, bark, foliage, rocks all have amazing textures up                   close.  Let them inspire you to write haiku and other forms of Japanese poetry as a                         group.  (Middle-high school students)

3:30         Art in Nature.   Sit in the garden as a group and paint or draw what you see to your                          heart's content. (Middle-high school students)

4:00         Nature in Words.  Great Chinese and Japanese poets were often inspired by nature.                        Listen to their poems while viewing the plants that inspired them.
