Course Description

Explore the process of throwing, handbuilding, construction and glazing techniques. Students will build on basic skills to learn how to make complex forms and interesting shapes using both handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques. Everyone will receive individual instruction in addition to class demos and will be encouraged to work independently on projects. This class is for students with all levels of experience. In addition to your class, tuition includes glazes and two-hours per week of open studio. Current Hammond Member’s receive a free 10lb. bag of reclaimed clay. Waive firing fees for the first 5 pieces fired. Students should wear old clothes or an apron. Please bring a set of tools or tool kits may be purchased for $25 through our website.
