The Art of Pastel: Portraiture

Course Description

Discover the rich colors and expressive qualities of pastel while learning the fundamentals of portraiture. Students will learn how to observe and capture facial features, proportions, skin tones, light, and shadow using soft pastels. Through demonstrations and guided instruction, students will explore layering, blending, color mixing, and techniques for creating realistic details and expressive effects. Perfect for artists new to pastel or those looking to develop their portrait-drawing skills. All skill levels are welcome. Paper will be provided for the first session. Instructor will go over paper options students should bring to the next class. All other materials will be provided.
