Pastel Techniques and Expression

Course Description

Explore the rich and versatile world of soft pastels in this expressive drawing course designed to build both technical skill and personal style. Students will learn foundational pastel techniques including layering, blending, mark-making, and color mixing while experimenting with texture, light, and form. Through guided demonstrations and observational exercises, participants will work from a variety of subjects such as still life, landscape, and natural forms. Emphasis will be placed on developing confidence with the medium while encouraging individual expression and a more intuitive approach to color and composition. All levels are welcome, though some drawing experience is helpful. All materials will be provided.
