Course Description
Explore the art of “painting” with wool in this unique fiber art class focused on creating 2D animal portraits. Using needle felting techniques, students will layer and blend colored wool fibers to build depth, texture, and expressive detail—much like painting with a brush, but in soft, tactile form. You’ll learn how to work from a reference image, develop shape and proportion, and use color and layering to capture the character of your chosen animal. Suitable for beginners and experienced makers alike, this class offers step-by-step guidance while encouraging personal style. Leave with a beautifully textured wool portrait and a new approach to drawing with fiber. All materials will be provided.
