Painterly Monotypes

Course Description

Monotypes are beautiful one-of-kind prints that can stand. Alone, or be painted with different mediums. Unlike the time needed to create a painting, gelli plate monoprints are immediate. Students will leave with several finished works of art. There is no press required so artists can continue to explore on their own. Prints are created with water-based ink, for ease in working and clean up. We will be going outdoors, into the garden with our gelli plate to create our prints, and work directly from nature. Students will use the teacher’s photos as reference if there is inclement weather. All materials will be provided.
