Course Description
Discover how the beauty of the natural world can inform functional ceramic design in this hands-on clay workshop. Participants will create one-of-a-kind plates or platters inspired by leaves, flowers, shells, and organic textures found in nature. Through guided instruction, students will explore slab-building techniques and learn how to incorporate texture, pattern, and form into their work. The instructor will demonstrate methods for impressing natural materials into clay, refining edges, and shaping pieces that are both visually striking and functional. This workshop is appropriate for beginners and those with some experience. All materials are provided. Finished pieces will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup in approximately five to six weeks. Additional glazing day, Participants will be notified when their work is ready.
