Mixing Media: Paint, Draw & Explore

Course Description

Ready to experiment, play, and get creative? This hands-on mixed media class invites students to explore the exciting possibilities of combining a variety of materials, including graphite, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oil paint, and more. Working on different surfaces, students will discover how layering, texture, color, and unexpected material combinations can transform a work of art. Through demonstrations, experimentation, and process-based projects, participants will combine drawing, painting, and textured materials. The emphasis is on exploration rather than perfection—encouraging students to take risks, embrace spontaneity, and discover what happens when materials and ideas come together in unexpected ways. Projects may begin with a simple drawing or painted surface and evolve through layers of color, marks, and texture. Come curious, experiment freely, and see where your ideas take you! All materials will be provided. (no class November 24)
