Course Description

Skies are not a background in art, but an important integral part! They describe mood, time of day, depth and atmosphere. Whether it be the peace and tranquility of a blue midday sky, or the stormy purple of a sky at dusk. In this workshop we will practice the top 3 elements of skies; color and light, clouds and their forms, and weather and mood. We will be working with various drawing tools, printmaking, charcoal and either oil or acrylic. Learn to create depth and atmosphere in their skies and create clouds that feel natural and integrated into their sky. Learn a reductive way of working to create expressive effects. Paint with a wet-on-wet technique and work with other artists in a supportive and fun community. Please bring lunch and light refreshments will be available during the day. Please see website for supply list.
