Course Description

Explore the many possibilities of drawing in this engaging, hands-on course designed for artists of all experience levels. Each class introduces a different drawing medium and the techniques that make it unique. Students will work with graphite, charcoal & Conte Crayon, pen & ink, pastel, ink & wash, and the last session will mix them all together, learning how to use line, value, texture, layering, contrast, and color to create expressive and finished drawings. Students will experiment with both traditional and contemporary approaches to drawing. Whether you are new to drawing or looking to expand your skills, this course offers an opportunity to discover new materials, develop confidence, and find the media that best suits your personal style. Students should bring a drawing pad (9x12 or 11x14). All other materials will be provided. No previous drawing experience is required. (No classes October 12 & 26)
