Course Description
In this observational drawing and painting course, students will explore the structure and beauty of plant forms, focusing on flowers, leaves, and stems as subjects. Through close looking and careful study, participants will learn to capture line, shape, proportion, and detail while developing a sensitivity to natural patterns and growth forms. Instruction will include demonstrations in graphite and other drawing media, with an emphasis on composition, texture, and expressive mark-making. Students will work from real plant materials as well as garden inspiration, building confidence in their drawing skills while deepening their connection to the natural world. All materials are supplied and all levels are welcome.
