Course Description

In this drawing course, students will focus on building depth and realism through the essential elements of light, shadow, and texture. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises, participants will learn how to observe and translate tonal value, create convincing three-dimensional form, and develop surface detail using a variety of drawing materials such as graphite, charcoal, and ink. Emphasis will be placed on understanding how light interacts with objects in both natural and still life settings, helping artists create stronger composition and visual impact. This course is ideal for beginners with basic drawing experience as well as intermediate students looking to strengthen their observational skills and refine their technique. Students should bring a drawing pad (9×12 or 11x 14). All other materials will be provided.
