The January Muse makes me think of cold nights, long journeys, and wide open expanses. Travel could be a literal or an inward journey.

 

In my Girlhood paintings, I travel back in time. I see this image as one of hope and wonder. As a young woman releases a handful of jacks, they become stars in the night sky.
