Understanding Color

Course Description

This course will focus on the basics of color theory. Students will gain practical knowledge on how to understand and utilize color in their work. We will cover a new topic each week and complete a variety of small studies, culminating in a three-week long final painting. We will explore concepts such as the color wheel, neon and neutrals, color and emotion, and optical mixing. This will be a fun, low pressure environment where creative freedom will be emphasized.
