Course Description
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of portrait drawing and painting, with a focus on capturing likeness, expression, and proportion. Through guided exercises, demonstrations, and observation from reference and/or live models, students will explore facial structure, features, value, color, and skin tones. Working with drawing and painting materials, participants will develop technical skills while building confidence in their personal approach to portraiture. Suitable for beginners and intermediate artists, the course emphasizes both foundational techniques and expressive interpretation, resulting in a series of completed portrait studies.
