Course Description
In this hands-on workshop, you will explore the art of creating jewelry using precious metal clay, a material that starts as malleable clay and transforms into solid, pure metal after firing. We will work with both sterling silver and bronze clay, learning techniques to shape, stamp, roll, texture, and mold it into beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. You will be introduced to both torch and kiln methods for firing metal clay and discover how easily these methods can be done at home with minimal setup. The tactile, hands-on nature of working with metal clay fosters a meditative, calming experience, helping you focus on the present moment. This workshop is open to everyone, whether you have experience in jewelry making or are a complete beginner. It is perfect for anyone looking to immerse themselves in a mindful, creative process while exploring the transformative qualities of metal clay. Each participant will create a unique one-of-a-kind heart shaped sterling silver pendant, a bronze metal pendant and a pair of earrings. You will also learn how to refine and polish your pieces to bring out their full brilliance. All tools and materials will be provided, and you will receive detailed instructions and a materials list so you can continue at home. No prior jewelry experience is necessary. All materials are included.
