Oil on canvas. Again, this piece came through rapidly, but I needed to develop her through layers of time to fully understand what she is about. Her vibrancy, part of the elements – the sun, earth, water. Erupting volcanoes, flowing water, is she here as a warning of what lies ahead if we don’t address climate change? Note the sun in her belt is a point in her solar plexus – a place of dynamic energy and life force. I’d love to hear how this affects others that view her. Ironically, I’ve improved her since this image. Around her upper body, painting a layer of dark blue, although allowing the movement to come through, this seems to allowed for even greater definition of the sun in her belt as well as further grounding her.
