About the Event

T'ai Chi is an ancient Chinese mind-body practice that is often called a moving meditation. The relaxed, flowing, low-impact movements improve balance, posture, flexibility and strengthen muscles. T'ai Chi practice reduces stress, promotes inner calm and helps us rejuvenate. The health and healing benefits include the prevention and rehabilitation of many age related conditions.

The class will focus on learning T'ai Chi movement and Qigong exercises for relaxation, health and balance. We will start with gentle stretching, work on learning the movements and end with a relaxation Qigong. No equipment or special clothing is required.

Paul Wood has studied T'ai Chi and Qigong since 2010 with Robert Chuckrow, PhD., a master teacher of T'ai Chi and Kinetic Awareness. Paul has taught students and groups in Dr. Chuckrow's classes since 2014 and is a T'ai Chi Instructor at the JCC Tarrytown.
