About the Event

Zen Buddhism is an ancient tradition that emphasizes living in the present with a mindful awareness of our world and experiences. Worry about events in the future and fretting about what has happened in the past are unhelpful distractions. Join Rev. Paul Tensshin Silverman, who has studied and practiced Zen since the 1980s, is the abbott of Tetsugyuji Zen Temple in Oita prefecture, runs Yorktown Zen, is a volunteer chaplain for DCS (Disaster Chaplain Services-a partner of the Red Cross), sits on four interfaith committees, and is Director of the Garden of Hope (Yorktown Heights, NY).
