This program explores the various festivals celebrated in East Asia to welcome the New Year and get things off to an auspicious start by eating symbolic foods, engaging in meaningful activities, and arranging festive decorations.
Elizabeth Hammer Munemura is the Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden's Executive Director and studied East Asia at the College of William and Mary and Yale University. Previously she worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Christie’s.
