About the Event
2pm – Beloved Japanese Children’s Stories (ages 4-7)
Hear the tales of two of the most popular figures in Japanese popular culture, followed by art activities.
3pm Magic Koi: Cultural Messages in Animals and Creatures (ages 8 and up)
Explore Japanese symbolic and cultural meanings attached to animals, especially as related to young people.
Throughout the afternoon, investigate a special display of Japanese traditional elegant dolls and miniature armor celebrating Children’s Day.
