About the Event
Jane Chang practices many forms of art—pottery, glass, jewelry, and most notably painting. Equally at home with Western watercolor and Chinese brush painting, she brings to brush painting skills learned through years of study with master artist Aixinjueluo Hengy, descended from the Qing dynasty.
In her painting Jane explores her personal relationship with nature. Her freehand, or , painting captures the chi, the lively spirit of her subjects with an economy of strokes. Her focus is on the inner spirit more than an exact mimicking of imagery. For the April meeting, Jane will present Hens, Chicks, and Roosters, a wonderful subject to celebrate the beginning of spring!xieyi
