I work on and with paper, making 3-dimensional paperworks and abstract ink drawings. The drawings, which range in size from small squares to five by five feet, are built through the aggregation of small marks that become abstract fields exploring order vs disorder, micro vs macro, and more obliquely, community vs isolation, and specificity vs universality. The drawings are done freehand, revealing every wobble and hesitation, gaining a semblance of control through organizational principles like grids, columns, and the square. My varied paperworks include small “enclosures,” book-like forms, and multi-stranded hanging works.
