Course Description
Explore the art of bookmaking through a range of creative and accessible techniques. In this hands-on course, students will create several unique book forms, from quick, expressive formats to more refined hand-bound structures. Learn the fundamentals of accordion binding, zine-making, and Coptic stitching. You’ll experiment with folding, simple sewn bindings, and methods for adding content, while creating pieces such as accordion books, small zines, and a hand-bound sketchbook or journal with an exposed spine. Open to all levels, this course encourages creativity and personal expression. Basic materials will be provided, and students are welcome to bring their own images, text, or art materials to incorporate into their work.
