Heart & Hands: Textured Clay Boxes

Course Description

Celebrate connection and creativity in this special Valentine’s workshop designed for meaningful making with your spouse, partner, family, friends or that special someone. In this hands-on workshop, we will create beautiful heart-shaped clay boxes using textured slabs. You’ll explore a variety of tools and materials to press patterns into the clay, adding personal symbols, words, or designs that make each piece truly one of a kind. The instructor will guide you through slab-building techniques, shaping, assembling, and finishing your box with care. Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day or simply time together, this workshop offers a relaxed, welcoming environment for all levels, no experience necessary. Each participant will create their own heart box (or collaborate on one shared piece), which will be kiln-fired. Create a keepsake that holds more than treasures it holds memories made together. Clay pieces take four weeks to be bisque fired and the follow up glaze session will be Saturday, March 14th from 1:30pm – 3pm. Please wear clothes that can get muddy. All materials are provided.
