It seems like the older I get the less sure I become

and it's okay anyway.

These ups and these downs they just don’t ever stop.

It's just part of the deal, the tick of the clock,

it’s the phase of the moon, and the spin of the wheel.

If it weren’t for sleeping I’d never wake up.

and if it weren’t for crying I’d surely give up.

if it weren’t for the flowers and children learning to walk

I’d shut myself down never stopping to talk.

Water runs downhill, gives and takes as it flows

down mountains to rivers and out to the sea

then up to the sky, til it rains right back down.

It's just part of the deal, the tick of the clock,

it’s the phase of the moon, and the spin of the wheel

The older I get, the less that I know

But it’s okay anyway

the sun keeps on rising

the birds keep on singing

I keep on sleeping and I’m still waking up.

I’m still waking up

I’m still waking up
