Collage and Watercolor on Rag Paper

8 x 10 inches

White Plains, NY

I experiment with opposites: energy and stasis, spontaneity and deliberation, balance and asymmetry, beginning and end. My paintings can also be about revelation: revealing the artist’s mind, the hidden world of the subject, the raw, the veiled, the unspoken.

At times, I paint on various sheets of paper, then rip them up and create collages with them, along with painted areas in watercolor, oil, or acrylic. This piece was inspired by and created around a calligraphic mark I had painted.
