“Shelter in Place” was made in response to COVID as part of my graduate work in art therapy.  I have always been fascinated by the relationship between human anatomy and the natural world.  I began by painting an anatomical heart, which felt as though it was growing. Very organically, a baby appeared within the heart, symbolizing my hope for a heart-centered “re-birth” of humanity.
