As a consistent theme, I have been exploring the idea of marking time through observable change in natural phenomena. I have recorded the sun and shadow with panels made of wood, nails and graphite, or graphite and thread, acting as lyrical sundials. I have also created drawings with rain, wind and sea waves. In marking time with rain I use gouache on Yupo paper. When the rain finally evaporates on the impermeable paper, the gouache shows traces of the rain’s impact.
