I painted this watercolor piece at a time of major transition in my life. I was trying to make the decision to relocate from Chicago to San Diego and investigating new work opportunities as an art therapist and educator there. Nothing about the future was decided or clear for me. I began with the intention to find my way and a loose scribble on wet paper. The image soon evolved into this “inkling” of what was to come. Here I ride into my imagination on the back of my trusted guide. My mask indicates my ambivalence. Yet, I trust the process and allow myself to be carried onward.
