About the Event
Alisa Sakai takes a more intimate look at her inspirations and influences, all the while reflecting on the evolving American landscape.
Alisa Sakai is a second generation Japanese American with a graduate degree in religious history from Harvard University. As the Chair of Board of Trustees Sakai became involved with the Hammond Museum to better celebrate the dynamism of cross-cultural dialogue by promoting museum programs in the arts, culture, and gardens throughout the tri-state area. Sakai was inspired to highlight more of the AAPI community after finding photographs of her great-grandfather working to establish the Asian art wing at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 1906.
