Inspired by Aisla's travels through Guanajuato and the
Mexican Sierra Madre Mountains. Aisla volunteered with Oxfam and the Mexican Health Service clinics in the remote and dangerous mountains of the Sierras, while her mother was completing her Servicio Social (Social Service) as a physician offering women's healthcare, family planning and primary care services for the villagers, rail workers, Menonites, Tarahumara Indians and farmers of Creel, Pito Real and the Tarahumara Sierra. The Tarahumara live in caves, under cliffs and in small wood and stone cabins in remote areas. Aisla mined for fire opals in the caves along the rail routes with her mother, and these copper mines and opal mines are the inspiration for the water crystalline blues, aqua, salmon, red and green interplay.
