Honor is implicit in humans’ interdependent relationship with nature, and paramount for me during intimate handwork with this material. One of three deerskin nests charting a species life cycle over seasons (others use summer deerskin and vellum/shorn deerskin), lined with horsehair the nests communicate an intuitive interbeing. They counter the most dangerous environmental myth of our present era: that what impacts some one or some thing someplace else doesn’t impact me.
