Volunteer Opportunities

 

Interested in using your skills and learning new ones, together with dedicated and lively people? Then come volunteer at the Hammond….there’s lots to do!

 

We welcome current and new volunteers who are interested in working in jobs including:

• Gardening

• Painting

• Cleaning

• Carpentry

• Exhibition Installation

• Archiving

• Public Relations and Marketing

• Tour Guide

• Adult and Youth Program Support

• Event Support

All abilities, skills, ages, and experience welcome. Work once in a while or frequently. Participate as part of a group or putter along on your own.

 

Garden volunteers will work in and learn about gardening in the Japanese style. Tasks include tidying the stone and moss areas, raking the gravel paths, removing invasive plants, pruning shrubs and small trees (with guidance), and lots of weeding.

 

We greatly appreciate our volunteers and couldn’t manage without them. In return for your help, volunteers enjoy preferential access to workshops, free membership, and invitation to special celebratory events. And best of all, you’ll feel part of a dedicated group who are making a real difference to a special place.
