The Hammond Museum
Spring Dinner Fund Raiser
with Mr. Yanagi & Friends
The Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden expands its fund raising campaign into a full scaled drive of support for its mission: to bring authentic Art, Music and Culture from the East into the West.
This year, the Hammond Museum has chosen to honor Koichi Yanagi, Director of Koichi Yanagi Oriental Fine Arts in New York City, with the Natalie Hays Hammond Appreciation Award. Mr. Yanagi, a strong supporter of the Hammond, donated our precious tea room at the Hammond Museum and has done much to support the fine traditions of Japanese culture at the Hammond Museum.
We invite you to attend the Spring Dinner Event on Saturday May 9, 2015, to celebrate Mr. Yanagi. This special fund raising event will include:
-
cuisines by Chef Shikanai of the Kanoyama Japanese Restaurant and Nisa Lee Events,
-
a Koto concert by the talented Japanese musician Ms. Yumi Kurosawa and
-
a special SILENT AUCTION that will include Japanese ceramics from the Yanagi Oriental Fine Arts Collection.
We are most grateful to Mr Koichi Yanagi to his generous guidance, support and graceful willingness to share his time with the Hammond Museum. The evening will be held in his honor, but he insists that the evening will be a pleasant surprise of various friends, who will share the evening.
More details of this event will follow, including a silent auction, a Japanese tasting buffet and a special concert by a world renowned Koto player from Japan.
